HELLO,
I AM ANTONY,
and I am
"A NEURO SPICY".
Empowering people with autism through food and cooking
I’m someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and "A NEURO SPICY " is the word I use to describe how my brain experiences the world — different, not wrong.
Here, I share my cooking and my journey as a young person on the spectrum — to show that there is more than one way to learn, communicate, create, and connect.
Through my project, where I create cooking videos and talk honestly about my life on the autism spectrum, I’ve grown from someone who was shy about speaking up into someone who advocates for neurodivergent people. Sharing my cooking, culture, and daily experiences has helped me show that autism isn’t a limitation but a different way of thinking that can be creative, inspiring, and valuable.
By leading this project, I hope to encourage others to embrace their strengths, reduce stigma, and help build a more understanding and inclusive community.
Why Cooking for Autism Matters?
Cooking is not just about food — it’s about belonging, creativity, and celebrating the unique ways each mind experiences the world.
BUILD LIFE SKILLS AND SELF-EXPRESSION
From planning and measuring to timing and cleaning up, cooking strengthens executive functioning, problem-solving, and independence.
BOOSTS CONFIDENCE AND CREATIVITY
Each recipe mastered is an achievement. The process helps autistic individuals discover pride, express themselves & create something they share with others.
EMPOWERS HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND HOLISTIC BALANCE
Understanding ingredients and nutrition empowers people to make choices that support both physical and emotional well-being.

- COOKING
Food isn’t just about taste — it’s a full sensory experience. The sound of chopping, the smell of spices, and the texture of each bite can feel comforting, exciting, or sometimes overwhelming. Textures, colors, and even the way food is presented can make a big difference in how it’s received.
Cooking offers a way to explore these sensations safely and creatively. It allows space to adjust ingredients, experiment with textures, and build comfort step by step. Instead of food being stressful or unpredictable, it becomes familiar — something you can shape, understand, and enjoy.
Over time, cooking grows into more than a skill. It becomes a form of self-expression, regulation, and confidence, helping each person connect with their senses — and themselves — through the simple, meaningful act of making a meal.
